my Story
Hi, I’m Elle 👋
Burnout cost me more than my energy.
It cost me over £18,000.
For years, I believed I was doing everything right.
Work hard.
Build a career.
Save for the future.
Keep going when life gets difficult.I assumed that if I stayed responsible and worked hard enough, I would eventually feel secure.
Instead, I became exhausted.
My health suffered, and the career I had spent years building stopped fitting the life I was actually living.
More recently, I stepped away from my £43,000 career to help support my ageing and disabled parents.
Suddenly, I wasn’t only dealing with burnout.
I was also dealing with the financial consequences of it.
💸 Less income
😵💫 More uncertainty
🔒 Fewer optionsAnd the uncomfortable realisation that relying on one salary had never made me as secure as I thought it had.
I knew I needed a different future
The problem?
I had very little energy left to build one.
That is the part of burnout people rarely talk about.
You are told to rest.
Set boundaries.
Reduce your stress.
But financial pressure does not disappear because you are exhausted.
The bills still arrive.
Savings still matter.
And taking a break becomes much harder when your income depends on your ability to keep working.
I didn’t need another person telling me to wake up at 5am, monetise every hobby or build a business in the evenings.
I needed options that wouldn’t burn me out all over again.
So I started asking different questions.
How do you protect your health when you still need to earn money?
How do you create financial breathing space when your energy is limited?
How do you build a life that doesn’t collapse when your health, job or family circumstances change?
Those questions became the starting point for everything you’ll find here.
My background is in psychology and occupational therapy 🧠
My instinct has always been to understand why something feels difficult before trying to fix it.
So I started exploring:
🧠 Burnout and stress
⚡ Energy and capacity
🔁 Habits and behaviour change
🌀 Decision fatigue and overwhelm
💷 Financial stress and income optionsBut I also started looking seriously at different ways to make money.
Not overnight success.
Not passive-income promises.
Not someone standing next to a rented Lamborghini telling you that you simply need to want it more.
I wanted to find realistic ways to create extra income.
Ways that could fit around health problems, caring responsibilities and limited energy.
Ways that could create a little more breathing room without turning every spare moment into work.
Because burnout and financial stress are connected
Financial pressure can keep people in unhealthy situations.
A lack of savings can make every workplace problem feel more dangerous.
And when one salary is responsible for everything, reducing your hours, changing jobs or taking time off can feel impossible.
Money may not solve burnout.
But having more financial options can make it easier to protect yourself from it.
That option might be:
💷 Building an emergency fund
🕒 Reducing your working hours
🚪 Knowing you could leave an unhealthy job
🌱 Creating income that works around your life
😮💨 Simply having one less bill to worry aboutYou don’t need ten income streams.
You don’t need to reinvent your entire life.
You need enough breathing room to make your next decision from a place of choice rather than panic.
That’s why this website exist
It is about preventing burnout, reducing financial stress and creating more options.
You’ll find practical information about:
🌿 Burnout prevention and recovery
🧘 Stress management and self-care
💸 Side hustles and extra income
🛟 Financial resilience
🧠 Habits and everyday systems
🤖 AI tools that reduce mental loadSome ideas will help you make money quickly.
Some will help you use skills you already have.
Some will take longer to build but could become valuable assets over time.
And some will sound promising but turn out to be a complete waste of effort.
I’ll tell you about those too.
And yes, there will be AI 🤖
Some people use AI to write essays and code.
I am still not entirely sure what everyone is coding.
I use it to make life easier.
To organise my thoughts.
Plan meals.
Write awkward emails.
Understand complicated information.
Break overwhelming tasks into manageable steps.
And occasionally work out what I was supposed to be doing before I opened Instagram.
On the surface, these topics might appear unrelated.
Burnout.
Money.
Self-care.
Side hustles.
Habits.
AI.
But they all come back to the same question:
Will this reduce pressure or create more options?
If the answer is yes, it belongs here.
I’m not writing from the finish line
I’m still rebuilding my income.
I’m still learning what works around fluctuating energy, health and family responsibilities.
I’m still testing which side hustles are genuinely worthwhile and which ones simply create more work.
You’ll see the numbers.
The mistakes.
The experiments.
And the ideas that sounded much better before I actually tried them.
Because I don’t believe you need another person selling you a perfect life.
You need useful information from someone who understands what it feels like when life doesn’t go to plan.
My aim isn’t to help you become more productive at being exhausted.
It is to help you:
🌿 Protect your health
💷 Reduce financial pressure
🧠 Lower your mental load
🚪 Create more choices
😮💨 Build a little more breathing roomMaybe that means building an emergency fund.
Maybe it means earning enough to reduce your hours.
Maybe it means knowing you could leave a job if you needed to.
Or maybe it simply means having an extra £100 in the bank and one less thing keeping you awake at night.
Small changes can reduce the pressure.
One extra income stream can create an option.
And sometimes, one option is enough to make life feel considerably less trapped.
Thank you for being here.
I hope you leave with practical ideas, a little more clarity and the confidence to build a life that works around your health, responsibilities and capacity - rather than constantly fighting against them.
